ENDORSE IT IN DORSET
The much rated 3 day festival on Friday 8th Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th at Oakley Farm, Six Penny Handley (near Salisbury) in Dorset keeps standards high again this year with an impressive line up.
Friday 8th sees 2-tone heroes THE BEAT headlining and IMPERIAL LEISURE and the much talked about THE TALKS supporting.
Saturday 9th see Moon Ska represented by Reggae legends SYMARIP with Ska acts THE SPLITTERS, and SMOKE LIKE A FISH also appearing. Symarip will be headling the World Stage at 12 midnight on Saturday night.
Sunday sees DREADZONE headling and THE BIG's ED ROME doing his excellent solo thing!
FORDHAM FESTIVAL
The Fordham Festival on Friday 8th, Saturday 9th, and Sunday 10th just north of Newmarket, Cambrideshire also sees Ska well repesented with the following bands appearing on these nights.
Sat 9th BAD MANNERS. THE BEAT, NEVILLE STAPLES, THE TALKS, THE DUB CATS, CATCH-IT KEBABS.
Sun 10th Ska and Reggae legends SYMARIP as principle support on stage 9pm
EUROPE'S BIGGEST SKA AND PUNK FESTIVAL
Europe's biggest ska and Punk festival Mighty Sounds takes place on 18th to the 20th July in the Czech Republic (well actualy is in Olsi u Oparan. Olsi is a small village about 15 km from a Southbohemian town of Tabor, around 100 km south from capital city Prague.
Acts appearing include THE UPSESSIONS. THE TOASTERS, SONIC BOOM SIX, DOREEN SHAFFER, DENNIS ALCAPONE, MAD CADDIES plus loads more!

ARTHUR KAY & THE ORIGINALS REFORM!
First gig in over 6 years see's Kent Ska and Rocksteady legends ARTHUR KAY & THE ORIGINALS return to the stage to perform a "best of" set to celebrate frontman Arthur's Kay's 60th birthday.
Top UK music mag MOJO magazine recently featured the bands 1980 single "Play My Record" on their cover mounted Ska CD alongside the likes of Desmond Dekker, Toots And The Maytals, Bob Marley & The Wailers. MOJO described ARTHUR KAY as "as one of UK Ska's great unsung heros" and they were not wrong.
Expect to hear "Play My Record" and his seminal "Ska Wars" tracks released on the first DIY Ska label back in the days of 2-Tone plus other songs from the bands 4 albums.
Support comes in the form of an duo accoustic set from special guests from our very own ex-Bodysnathchers and Special AKA singer RHODA DAKAR and that West Bromwich Albion supporting Grammy award winner Nick Welsh from Skaville UK and who was also a member of Selecter, Bad Manners, and the Lee Perry band.
DJ set will be supplied by a Ska and Reggae loving DJ!
ALSO all entrants will receive a FREE CD single taken from the new ARTHUR KAY & THE ORIGINALS album.

THE ORIGINALS feature original Originals: Trevor Griggs on keyboards and Steve Wyse from London Party Band Left of the Dial - drums (who played on AK's early 1970's singles). Also: Roger Goodwin on sax and guitarist Jon Garber (ex Toot n Ska Men).
SKA AT THE RHYTHM FESTIVAL
Our good pal Jim Driver marks the third year of his Rhythm Festival at the Twinwood Arena in Capham, north of Bedford, in Bedfordshire. Ska and Reggae acts appearing this year will be:

SONIC BOOM SIX will be playing the main stage at Summerisle main stage as will the DUB PISTOLS.
ALSO there will be mix of classic and modern Ska and Punk acts in a circus big top with its own bar courtesy of Capitol Scooters. Headliner is NEVILLE STAPLES.
