CLUB SKA and London Ska act FREETOWN are presenting a 'Ska comes to The Hackney Empire' this Saturday night (28th June) at the Hackney Empire (291 Mare Street, London, E8 1EJ) headlining will be DAVE BARKER (the famous Reggae singer of Dave and Ansel Collins who had a No. 1 hit "'Double Barrel"' and a top 10 hit "'Monkey Spanner'") who also collaberated with THE SELECTER on our very own "Kingston Affair" Moon Ska album.

FREETOWN will also be playing a live tribute set to the late great LAUREL AITKEN with support from THE DUALERS and THE POPES OF CHILLITOWN.

"Cheers to everyone who saw off BiG Dave at The Buffalo Barin London recently... As you may know, Dave our Bass player is off travelling round the World! This does not mean that it is the end of The BiG, just a break for a bit. We are busy finishing a new album called "In Session" or something close to that. It's a mix of songs from various sessions all unreleased over the past 5 years. We are having a lot of fun putting this together, so it should be OK once done. We will be touring once this is completed and there is going to be a 10th year anniversary tour next year in 2009.
Another excuse to have a bit of time off is to concentrate on BiG Ed's solo Reggae project ED ROME. His album "A Life In Minutes" will be released by the Rockers Revolt label... come and see some shows. BiG Ed is obviously in The Band as well as Bella on Sax and Jim on drums.
